New Blog Post – ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘God’s Peace‘

Then I lay down and slept in peace and woke up safely, for the Lord was watching over me. (Psalm 3:5 TLB)

God is the only One who can give us peace, rest and safety. As we trust and put our faith in Him, He will watch over us daily. Being busy all the time takes us away from God. BUSY, means: ‘Being Under Satan’s Yoke.’ This is what Satan wants, he wants us to be BUSY because it takes our focus off God. I knew God was showing me He wanted me to rest in Him. He wanted me to rest in His Spirit, and be attentive to His Spirit. He wanted me to practise sitting in His presence throughout the day, and I had already decided I would obey Him. Satan was trying to deter me from doing this as he wanted me to come away from God, he did not want me to meditate on God’s Word nor did he want me to worship or praise God. God wanted to strengthen me and draw me closer to Himself and I wanted this too. Sometimes we get distracted from walking along the path God has for us. We must have faith, persistence, and self-discipline to enable us to do what God wants us to do for our lives. This is learnt through the Holy Spirit of God. He gives us His blessings and strength to walk in the ways of God and not in the ways of man. We must be led by God through Jesus Christ, listening to the Holy Spirit at all times; taking steps as He leads us through each moment of the day. So, let your hearts and minds rest on Christ, through needful prayer and worship, and be sensitised to His voice; understanding what He will require from us.

And the Lord replied, “I myself will go with you and give you success.” (Exodus 33:14 TLB)

Always be joyful. Always keep on praying.  No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 TLB)

I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace. (Psalm 34:1 TLB)

New Blog Post – ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘Word of Wisdom’‘

The Lord God has given me his words of wisdom so that I may know what I should say to all these weary ones. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will. (Isaiah 50:4 TLB)

God has given me the ability to comfort others in their times of need. I can sympathise with others, having experienced some of the things they may be going through. It is putting my experiences into practise, what God had done for me; He also could do for them. Being prayerful, is a necessity, it is the key for us to be able to reach out to others with God’s Spirit. He guides and leads us in each situation and we must call upon His name for His help to help them. God had shown me He wanted me to work with women’s problems. I intended to be obedient to His calling. God was with me and He equipped and empowered me with Godly wisdom. I could not do anything in my own will and strength. I knew I was totally dependant upon God through my faith and praying for them daily. God was the only One who would bring them through. Trusting God through His Spirit in the name of Jesus, Christ, He enables me to speak the right words to help His people.

Lord, open my ears to hear Your message of hope and speak it to someone in need.

But not everyone who hears the Good News has welcomed it, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed me when I told them?”[*] Yet faith comes from listening to this Good News—the Good News about Christ. (Romans 10:16-17 TLB)

And we are sure of this, that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will. And if we really know he is listening when we talk to him and make our requests, then we can be sure that he will answer us. (1 John 5:14-15 TLB)

New Blog Post – ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘Trust Christ‘

And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with him. Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done. (Colossians 2:6-7 TLB)

I trusted Jesus Christ to save me, and I trusted Him to give me the faith to believe He will grow me up in faith. These things do not happen overnight, bit by bit my trust seemed to grow through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God. Each day I face problems, trials, tribulations, this turns my attention to God. I remember the time I’d had a Mammogram and within a few days after having the procedure, a letter came from the hospital, the  Radiographer wanted to discuss my procedure I’d had done. My first reaction was to seek God. I ask God outright. Have I got cancer? I asked Him to give me a clear ‘Yes or No’, as the Bible states. The answer came back ‘Yes’! This brought me deep into prayer. God was preparing me before I had my appointment at the hospital. I put my trust completely in God. I saw the Radiologist. He told me outright they had found cancer. God’s Words came true. They did a Biopsy straight away, I was being referred to see an Oncologist. He discussed with me the operation and the treatment that would follow. I am pleased to say, ‘God delivered me from the Cancer.’ God has been such a loving and faithful God to me. I can never thank Jesus enough for all His grace, mercy, strength and power He has given to me the faith to believe I would overcome this disease. I am clear of cancer and in my eighth year of freedom.

I will give you back your health again and heal your wounds. Now you are called “The Outcast” and “Jerusalem, the Place Nobody Wants.”  But, says the Lord, when I bring you home again from your captivity and restore your fortunes, Jerusalem will be rebuilt upon her ruins; the palace will be reconstructed as it was before. The cities will be filled with joy and great thanksgiving, and I will multiply my people and make of them a great and honored nation. (Jeremiah 30:17-19 TLB)

New Blog Post – ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘God’s Teachings‘

My son, never forget the things I’ve taught you. If you want a long and satisfying life, closely follow my instructions. Never tire of loyalty and kindness. Hold these virtues tightly. Write them deep within your heart. If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself. (Proverbs 3:1-5 TLB)

Jesus, has taught me through the Holy Spirit of God; that I should never forget His teachings. I wanted to learn everything I could from Him and more than anything else I wanted to obey His instructions. I never wanted to go back into my old way of life. My relationship with Jesus Christ is very important to me. Before I open my Bible and daily readings I pray for wisdom, discernment, and understanding and ask the Holy Spirit of God to open my ears to hear what He wants me to hear, and open my eyes to see what He wants me to see. I pray He will enlighten the path He wants me to walk on. God’s Word has enriched my life and my faith is growing deeper in Jesus Christ. I am so thankful and grateful to God for the new life He has given to me through His precious Son Jesus Christ my Lord. I trust Him completely.

                                                        Prayer

All these new things are from God who brought us back to himself through what Christ Jesus did. And God has given us the privilege of urging everyone to come into his favor and be reconciled to him. (2 Corinthians 5:18 TLB)
May the Lord of peace himself give you his peace no matter what happens. The Lord be with you all. (2 Thessalonians 3:16 TLB)

New Blog Post – ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘Sanctified in Christ’

“‘ Then it will be as though I had sprinkled clean water on you, for you will be clean—your filthiness will be washed away, your idol worship gone. And I will give you a new heart—I will give you new and right desires—and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love.[*] And I will put my Spirit within you so that you will obey my laws and do whatever I command.” (Ezekiel 36:25-27 TLB)

God has cleansed, sanctified, and purified my heart from all my sin. He has given me a new clean heart through Jesus Christ. When I was in the world I had all the wrong desires which was contrary to what God wanted from me. It was when I confessed my sin before God and  acknowledged Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord; I knew I had my own personal divine  encounter with God. God spoke straight into my heart, ‘Avril everything that has been wrong in your life, I the Lord Your God shall put everything right.’ How my heart was filled with joy when I heard those words to me. At the time I never realised how wrong my life had been. God is doing a remarkable work in my life. Daily, I ask God to keep me on a righteous path of holiness, godliness, and righteousness keeping me close to Jesus Christ. I never want to walk in the darkness ever again. God has set me free and I praise and thank Him with all of my heart, mind, body, spirit, and soul in the name of Jesus Christ.

                                                               Prayer

And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvellous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself. (Ephesians 3:17-19 TLB)

New Blog Post: ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘God Given Abilities‘

Be sure to use the abilities God has given you through his prophets when the elders of the church laid their hands upon your head. Put these abilities to work; throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone may notice your improvement and progress. Keep a close watch on all you do and think. Stay true to what is right and God will bless you and use you to help others. (1 Timothy 4:14-16 TLB)

God has blessed us with an array of talents and opportunities that are uniquely ours. We should use these spiritual gifts God has given to us, and use those gifts to the best of our abilities. Our talents are improved by exercising those gifts in faith, putting our gifts into practice; everyone should then notice the improvement and progress we make in the name of Jesus Christ. We need discipline to develop our skills. That’s precisely what God wants us to do, and that is precisely what we should desire for ourselves. As we seek to expand our talents, we will undoubtedly encounter stumbling blocks along the way – things like fear of rejection or fear of failure. When we do, we must not stumble! We must take all concerns to God in prayer, and then keep walking in faith, asking God to refine our skills and offering up our services to God. When the time is right, He will use us – but it’s up to us to be thoroughly prepared when He does.

                                                         Prayer

Father, thank You for all the talents and opportunities that are uniquely mine through Jesus Christ. May I use each spiritual gift You have given to me, to glorify, magnify, and exalt Your precious and holy name. Help me to be disciplined and obey You. I ask You to develop those skills within me, so that I may grow deep in my faith and trust in You. I ask this prayer in faith, for the honour and glory of Your precious name. Amen.

New Blog Post: ‘Come Into God’s House and Meet with Him in Prayer’ – ‘Be Cheerful‘

When a man is gloomy, everything seems to go wrong; when he is cheerful, everything seems right! (Proverbs 15:15 TLB)

We must have a right attitude, it can colour our whole personality. When we are gloomy, everything seems to go wrong; when we are cheerful, everything seems right! We cannot always choose what happens to us, but we can choose our attitudes toward each situation. The secret to a happy heart is filling our mind with thoughts that are true, pure, and lovely, with thoughts that dwell on the good things in life. Life should be a celebration, but sometimes we don’t feel much like celebrating. In fact, when the weight of the world seems to bear down upon our shoulders, celebration may be the last thing on our minds …. but it shouldn’t be. So we should give thanks for these hours on loan from heaven, celebrating them and filling them with song. We must look at our attitudes and then examine what you would allow to enter into our mind and what we allow ourselves to dwell on. We must be open up our hearts to God and allow Him to make the changes to our lives.

                                                           Prayer

Heavenly Father, I choose to have the attitude of Christ, and be joyful and happy in Him. I refuse to give in to misery. I choose to have a cheerful heart, for God has given me cause to celebrate with Him. I praise and thank Him forever and always in Jesus Christ. Amen.
