New Blog Post: "Pay Attention To God"

Proverbs 22:17-18 NIV Pay attention and listen to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips.

God began to teach me through His Holy Spirit how to pray, read His Word, and listen to His voice and be still in His presence. Sitting at Jesus’ feet daily His Words began to unfold within my heart and mind. I was like a sponge wanting to soak and enjoy His love, joy, wisdom, and knowledge, needing more of His teaching to further my walk with Him. He had my full attention and I would apply His teaching to my life with His help.
Listening to the Word of God helped my faith to grow within my heart. The more I read God’s Word the more it became rooted and grounded within me. I meditated upon on it and used it in prayer to pray God’s Words back to Him. I needed God’s wisdom and common sense, which is the rod of His discipline and training, to lead me in the ways of God. Like all children we need our parents to discipline us so that we do not become unruly. We must give up struggling and striving and accept God’s salvation through Jesus Christ who died on the Cross for us.
He taught me to understand things which I was ignorant of before I met my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ; He has shown me just how awesome God is. He has always been faithful to me and has answered me in the faithfulness of His promises. He is keen for us to know more about Him and for our relationship to grow deep with Him. I was willing to learn from Him bit by bit it all became clear.

New Blog Post: "Walking with God"

2 John 4 NIV It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.

Having a relationship with God is the most important relationship we could ever have. It was through my own personal divine encounter with Jesus Christ in the hospital, which changed my life radically. One moment I was walking in the path of evil and then suddenly in a twinkle of an eye I found myself accepting Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord and began to pray to God through Jesus Christ’s Name with the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God who helped and showed me I was accepted and adopted as God’s child into the Kingdom of Light with Him.
My walk with God began. I had urgency for prayer and to read the Bible alongside my daily readings. Each day was so exciting; I had such love and longings within my heart for God. I could not wait to meet God and to sit with Him each morning in the place which was special to me. God began to teach me through the Holy Spirit of God what He wanted me to do. I yearned and thirsted for Him and found prayer and reading God’s Word began to come alive within me. It brought me love, joy, peace and happiness which I had not experienced for a long time. I knew this was all due to God because He loved me and He was showing me how much His love meant. For the first time in my life I realized that God’s love was different to the world’s love. It was pure, holy and godly and I did not have to do anything to get it but just open up my heart to receive it. It was an unconditional love which I didn’t have to earn. I praised and thanked God continually. I could see God had always loved and been faithful to me even before I knew Him personally I had never felt quite like this before. I was changing and seeing things from His point of view and not my own.
He showed me He had always watched over me and took care of me in everything I needed. On hindsight God had protected me from all evil and harm and did not let the enemy have his way in my life because He had chosen me and I belonged to Him. Even though I had to go through many trials and tribulations some of those trials were unpleasant at the time but God taught me how to lean, rely, and depend upon Him and He met each one of my needs as they came.
Having these trials brought me into a deeper and closer relationship with God. He encouraged and helped me and taught me how to persevere and to trust Him and never to give up even when the trials were tough. I knew God’s plans were perfect for my life and nothing on this earth would ever thwart the plans God had made for me. He did not say it would be easy for me but what He did say was He would be there to help me through each situation I faced. My faith is in God. I trust and expect Him to work out all the details He has planned for my life with Him being in His rightful place as head of my household. I would do the best I could to walk in the path of truth with Jesus Christ and always would be thankful that the Holy Spirit of God was within me to help me to keep the commandments of my Father.

New Blog Post: "Patience In God"

Hebrews 6:12 NIV We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what been promised.

God has shown me how to become patient. He used the vision He gave to me in Habakkuk 2:2-3 NIV. Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay” this Scripture was given to me in nineteen eighty nine when asked to write the book ‘A House Of Prayer’ – Daily Devotional.
There was no question of me ever being disobedient to God, I knew what He wanted me to do and with true grit and determination I was going to do it. With the Holy Spirit of God I began to write the book in faith. God was testing my faith and He was challenging me to do this great task. My mind and eyes were focused upon God at all times. I knew through Jesus Christ I could do all things through Him who gave me strength.
God was building me in patience as I went through many trials and tribulations. This built my faith further and helped me to endure and persevere until I saw the fulfilment of God’s Words come to pass. God said it; God would do it in His way and according to His plans. He would work out all the circumstances for me and I would walk and be obedient to His will then He would do the rest.
I put all my energies into writing the book every free moment I had and once it was finished, I relinquished it back to God for Him to do what He said and promised. God increased my faith to believe His Word would come to pass when He was good and ready.
The book was published in November 2012, it took me twenty three years plus before it all came to pass but I never gave up on God and my faith became stronger. Learning patience was a big thing for me. I thought everything would happen instantly when God said it. What I have learnt from the lessons God has given me everything is at His appointed time and we have to learn to be patient and wait for Him to get everything into place before His Words can be fulfilled. God has proven His faithfulness to me many times and He has never let me down. I love Him with all of my heart, mind, body, spirit and soul. Accepting Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord and asking Him to take up residence within my heart was the best decision I have ever made.

New Blog Post: "Confidence in God"

Ephesians 3:12 NIV In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

God has taught me how to approach the Throne of Grace with confidence and faith. It is through my faith and prayer life and reading God’s Word which has helped me to do this. God does hear our prayers when we pray with confidence to Him and trust Him to work out His plans for us. God knows what is best of each one of His children. He does not get things wrong because He has predestined the path for us all to walk upon. He guides and leads us with His Holy Spirit; He helps and enables us to walk in the path of His righteousness, holiness and godliness and to keep to the path of His commandments.
Our faith, confidence and trust must grow daily as we learn to lean upon Him for what we need. We must want the change in our lives and have a lifestyle worthy of our Lord, walking closer with Him wanting the things God wants for us. He is the One who gives us the assurance we need to be followers of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We must never be self-reliant this means we are doing things in our own strength instead of depending upon God’s strength. He will convict us when we step out of His will. The Holy Spirit of God will make us feel uncomfortable when we are not walking in the path of His commandments. This is lessons which we have to learn. We can be certain that God will never let any of His children down. We are the ones who will let God down at times in our walk with Him. God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind. We must never doubt what God has said. Doubt does not come from God but comes from the evil one. He wants us to doubt what God has for us hoping this will take our focus off God and away from the purposes of God’s will. Through prayer we must put the evil one in his place. God has won the battles for us when He took the Cross at Calvary to set the captives free. We must reflect only on what God say’s, through His Word and then the Lord will give us the insight and wisdom needed to face the battles which maybe ahead.
