‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Faith in God

Hewbrews 11:1 NLT Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

My faith is in the character of God. He is who He says He is. I believe in God’s promises, as He has yet to let me down, since I became aware of who He is. He has always done what He has promised to do for me. I know at times I cannot see what He is doing, but nevertheless that does not alter the facts of what He has said to me He will do. This is where my faith and hope comes from having confidence in Him that what He has said will actually happen; it has given me the assurance about things I cannot see.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the confident faith You have given to me through Your precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank You for showing me Your character and You are who You say You are. I believe in the promises You have made with me, for Your Word does not lie. I am assured what You say to me, You will fulfill all at Your appointed time, in the name of Jesus Christ and in the supernatural power of the Holy  Spirit of God. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – God’s Presence

Psalm 73:23-24 NLT Yet I still belong to You You hold my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

My confidence is in God’s presence and guidance. From birth to death, I am continually in God’s grip. But far more, I have the hope of resurrection with Him. Though my courage and strength may fail, I know that one day I will be raised to life with the Lord Jesus Christ, to serve Him forever. He is my security, my ever present help and I cling to Him with all my spirit and soul.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, my confidence is in Your presence and guidance. From birth to death, I am continually in Your grip. But far more, I have the hope of resurrection with Jesus Christ . Though my courage and strength may fail, I know one day I will be raised to life with the Lord Jesus Christ, to serve Him forever. My security, faith, trust, is in Him alone and I cling to Jesus with all my heart, mind, spirit, body, and soul. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – The Lord Helps Me

Psalm 40:2-3 NLT I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

When I have had to wait on God, I have not at times found it easy; but I have received four benefits by me waiting. (1) God lifted me out of my despair, (2) God set my feet on solid ground, (3) God steadied me as I walked and (4) God put a new song in my heart to praise, worship, adore and love Him more. Often I have to wait for God’s blessings and sometimes I go through a trial of waiting.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me the strength and patience to wait upon You. Thank You for helping me when I cry out to You. You lift me out of my despair, out of the mud and mire. You set me upon the solid ground of God, steadying me as I walk along the path with You. How grateful and thankful I am to You always and forever more, I place my love and trust in You. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – We Should Fear God

Ecclesiastes 3:14 NLT And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear Him.

I have learnt the purpose of my life is to fear the all-powerful God. I also love the all-powerful God because I respect Him. I stand in awe at all the wonderful things He has done for me and because of who He is. My purpose in life starts with whom I know, not what I know or how good I am. It is impossible to fulfill my God-given purpose unless I revere, exalt, and praise God. I give Him first place in my life now and forevermore.

Prayer

Heavenly God, You are God and I know whatever You do is final. I I know nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear Him. I have learnt the purpose in my life is to fear the all-powerful God, but I also love the all-powerful God because I respect Him.  I stand in awe at all the wonderful things You have done and continue to do for me and because of who You are. My purpose in life starts with whom I know, not what I know or how good I am. It is impossible to fulfill by God-given purpose unless I revere, exalt, and praise God in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord, and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God. I give the Almighty God, first place in my life now and forever more. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – God’s Requirements

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NLT And now Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, and love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.

Often I ask God, Lord, what do You require of me? I wait upon Him and listen to His response to my question? Sometimes, it is not always what I want to hear, other times I am jumping with joy, because I have the answers I want to hear. It is hard to follow the commands of God, and to live in a way that pleases Him, but one thing I do know that is certain, I love Him and serve Him with all my heart and soul. I fear God (have reverence for Him). Live in a way that pleases Him. Love Him. Serve Him with all my heart and soul. Obey His commands to the best of my knowledge and ability. I live my life in faith, trust, love, confidence, in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God.

Prayer

Gracious God, You require me to fear the Lord my God, and live in a way that pleases You. I want to do this too. I love You and serve You with my all my heart and soul. I surrender, submit, and relinquish my life to You, in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Ask God for Wisdom

James 1:5 NLT If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

When I need God’s wisdom, I go straight to the ‘Throne of God’, and I ask Him for wisdom in the name of Jesus Christ. I need God’s wisdom and guidance in everything I do. It helps me through trying times. God’s wisdom is practical. The wisdom from God relates to life during the most trying times. It is not a wisdom isolated from suffering trials. This wisdom is a tool which trials are overcome. An intelligent person may have profound ideas, but a wise person puts profound ideas into action. Intelligence will allow some to describe several reasons why the car broke down. The wise person chooses the most likely reason and proceeds to take action. God’s wisdom is divine, and it goes beyond common sense. It is Christlike. Asking for wisdom is ultimately to be like Christ.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I do ask You for wisdom, and also I ask for confident faith in what I hope for and assurance for the things I cannot see. Thank You for the Scripture which helps me gain the confidence I need in my times of struggles and circumstances. I truly believe what You have said You will do in my life, You will do in the name of Jesus Christ at Your appointed time. I thank You for the Holy  Spirit, who helps me work through any doubts I may have and He helps me overcome in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Praise the Lord

Psalm 57:9-11 NLT I will thank You, Lord, among all the people. I will sing Your praises among the nations. For Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May Your glory shine over all the earth.

I will thank and praise the Lord as He has prepared my new day. I thank Him for His faithfulness and will honour Him with my songs of praise and thanksgiving. I don’t have to have sleepless night’s worrying, about the things I cannot change, I use those wakeful hours to meditate on an expression suitable for the world. God has shown me how to turn times of stress into times of blessing by considering God’s faithfulness in comparison with my fleeting problems. I have no need to worry when I can invest my time in praying, worshiping, and praising, God, i can never thank Him enough for all the goodness God has bestowed upon me In Jesus  Christ.

Prayer

I will thank You, Lord, among all the people. I will sing Your praises among the nations. For Your unfailing live for me is high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches the clouds. Be exalted, O God, about the highest heavens. May Your glory shine over all the earth. I praise and thank You, with all of my heart, mind, body, spirit, and soul, for all Your goodness You have bestowed upon me in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

My Hope is in God

Romans 5:3-6 NLT We can rejoice , too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they can help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Even when I have trials and problems I can still find within my heart to rejoice in God, for I know that this can help me to develop endurance. The future is hard especially what is going on in the world today, but having the hope and trust in God, will resolve all the issues we face. We will not escape having difficulties, but we do have a great God, who is always present with us, and He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. The Father loved us so much that He sent His Son to bridge the gap between us. The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit to fill our life with love and to enable us to live by His power. When we feel utterly helpless, Jesus always comes just at the right time, we need His help to overcome life’s difficulties and Satan’s attacks.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I can rejoice, too, when I run into problems and trials, for I know that they can help me develop endurance.  And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens my confident hope of salvation. The hope I have in Jesus does not lead to disappointment. For I know how much God loves me because He has given me the Holy Spirit to fill my heart with His love. How grateful and thankful I am to You almighty God, for whatever my future holds. You have given me the gift of trust, love, faith, and hope in Jesus Christ, who has bridge the gap between us and He will resolve all the problems and trials I face. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Wait with Patience

Psalm 27:14 NLT Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

It is really has been hard for me to wait patiently for the Lord. Even now as I write, I am waiting on the Lord to answer my prayer. I have been waiting over two years for this specific prayer to be answered, but I will never give up on God until He answers me and see His faithfulness fulfilled. All God wants from me is my trust and have faith to believe what He has said to me, He will do.

He is testing my faith, but I know He will build my faith in confidence even though I am unable to see what He is doing behind the scenes. I know He is working out the plans and purpose He has for my life, and He most certainly does not need my help to do this.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am waiting upon You to move the mountains in my life in the name of Jesus  Christ. You know what You are doing and it’s up to me to trust that the purpose of Your plan will come to pass at Your appointed time. I will wait patiently upon the Lord for You to do what You have said and promised. May Your name be magnified, glorified, and exalted forever and always, in the name of Jesus Christ, and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Ask God for Wisdom

Proverbs 2:6-9 NLT For the Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to Him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.

We must seek God, and ask Him through the Holy Spirit of God, to grant us His wisdom in the name of Jesus Christ. He will give His wisdom and victory to the godly but not to those drifting through life or acting irresponsibly with His gifts and resources. If we are faithful to Him and keep His purpose in life clearly in mind, He will keep us from pride and greed.

We gain wisdom through a constant process of growing. First, we must trust and honour God. Second, we must realise that the Bible reveals God’s wisdom to us. Third, we must make a lifelong series of right choices and avoid moral pitfalls. Fourth, when we make sinful choices and mistakes, we must learn from our errors and recover. For example some people have more insight than discretion, others have more knowledge thank common sense. But we pray for all aspects of wisdom and take the steps to develop them.

Prayer

Father God, I ask You to fill me full with Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding, guidance, insight, and direction today. I need all these spiritual gifts to enable and empower me to do the things You are calling me to do. Without You I can do nothing, but in Christ Jesus, I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. I thank You for protecting me and being a shield and shade to me, thank You, that You watch over me and take care of me for the glory, honour, praise of Your kingdom and name. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – God Keeps His Promises

Psalm 145:13-14 NLT For Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keep His promises; He is gracious in all He does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.

Sometimes, my burdens are so heavy and more than I can bear. I wonder to myself, how on earth can I go on? I am at the crossroads of my life, wondering which route God wants me to take. I meditate on the Word of God, asking Him to make things clear to me. God led me to this Scripture:  Psalm 32:8 TLB I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress.

God through His Word has given me the promise I needed to hear. I can trust Him to do what He says He will do.

I have commited the burden to Him and continue to meditate on His promises. He is faithful in His character, nature, and personality, so I have faith to know He will not let me down. His greatness is beyond discovery, He does mighty acts for each generation, He is full of majestic, glorious splendour, He does awe-inspiring deeds, He is righteous, He is kind, merciful, patient, loving, and compassionate, He rules over an everlasting kingdom, He is my source of all my daily needs, He is righteous and kind in all His dealings, He remains close to those who call on Him, He hears our cries and rescues us. So, I remember all that God is and when I feel I am about to fall under my heavy loads God really does lift me up.

Prayer

Gracious and loving God, thank You for Your encouragement for me today. I trust You to guide and lead me along the best pathway for life. I wait patiently for You to prepare the way You want me to go. I lift up Your name with praise, thanksgiving, adoration, and love. There is no other God in my life for me but Thee. I come to You in the precious name of Jesus Christ my Lord, and through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Life is Short

Psalm 144:3-4 NLT O Lord, what are human beings that You should notice them, mere mortals that You should think about them? For they are like a breath of air; there days are like passing shadow.

Life is short, and our days are numbered. The time we have on the earth should be used wisely, our time could pass us by like a “passing shadow.” Our life is like the morning fog – it’s here for a while, then it’s gone. Because life is short, live for God while you have the time. Do not waste your time or life by selecting an inferior purpose that has no lasting value. Only God can make your life worthwhile, purposeful, and meaningful.

Prayer

Gracious God, we are human beings and we should be thankful that You notice us. We know our time on this earth is limited, so help us to use the time we have wisely, or our time could pass us by like a “passing shadow.” Our life is short, so let us live for God and do His bidding for the glory, honour, and praise of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not let us waste our time or life, by selecting an inferior purpose that has no lasting value. Help us to realise only God can make our lives worthwhile, purposeful, and meaningful in the precious name of Jesus Christ we give thanks and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God we ask. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – God Is Building Me Up

Jeremiah 24:6-7 NLT I will watch over and care for them, and I will bring them back here again. I will build them up and not tear them down. I will plant them and not uproot them. I will give them hearts that recognise me as the Lord. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me wholeheartedly.

When I acknowledged Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord, I realised I had been in a foreign land, and in captivity. I was in exiled for those first forty years of my life, I never realised even then how God was watching over me and taking care of me. I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus then, but it was only after He came to find me, and I accepted Him, as my personal Saviour and Lord, the Holy Spirit of God, began transforming me into image of Jesus Christ. A new spiritual birth was taking place.

He was building me up and not tearing me down. He was planting me and not uprooting me. The Holy Spirit of God, was watering the seeds within my heart, mind, body, spirit, and soul, enabling and empowering me to grow in faith in His supernatural power. He is changing my life moment by moment causing my faith to grow strong in Him. He is my God and my King, my Master and  my Lord. I am His child, and He is my God. I am wholeheartedly committed to Him and He is committed to me, for the glory, honour, and praise of His holy name.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, how grateful and thankful I am that You have always watched over me and taken care of me. Thank You for bringing me back again to the land You exiled me from. Thank You for my new spiritual birth in the name of Jesus Christ, and now I am able to recognise and acknowledge You as my personal Saviour and Lord. My faith and love is rooted and ground in Christ, to the honour, praise, and glory, of my Heavenly Father.

Thank You for my Helper the Holy Spirit of God, who teaches me the Truth, the Way, and the Life, of the Lord Jesus Christ I am ever grateful and thankful to Him now and forever more. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – God’s Word is Written Upon my Heart

Psalm 119:10-12  NLT I have tried hard to find You – don’t let me wander from Your commands. I have hidden Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You. I praise You, O Lord; teach me Your decrees.

Daily, I search for God’s Word to keep within my heart so that I don’t wander away from His commands. He has hidden His Word deep within my heart, so when I do sin the Holy Spirit of God, will immediately convict me of my sin, enabling me to repent and become clean once again before God. I have asked God to write His Word upon my heart and mind, so that I never forget His teachings. I memorise Scriptures, and use Scripture in my prayer’s to Him. I have learnt the enemy does not like God’s Word spoken to him, especially when it is used in faith and confidence in the name of Jesus Christ and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God. I make sure I put God’s Word to work in my life, making it a vital guide for everything I do.

Prayer

Almighty and merciful God, I thank and praise You that through the name of Jesus Christ, You have forgiven me all of my sin. I ask You to help me not to wander away from Your truth and be obedient to Your commandments. I have hidden (keeping), Your Word deep within my heart. You have written Your Word upon my heart, mind, spirit, and soul. I am every grateful and thankful to You, O God, that You enable and empower me through the supernatural power of Your Spirit, to live a righteous, holy, and godly life in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – Pay Attention O God

Psalm 5:1-3 NLT O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but You. Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to You and wait expectantly.

I get up early in the morning, the first thing I do when I wake up is to praise and thank God for the new day. I am eager to come and sit with Him, so I quickly get into the shower, get dressed and pray that I am dressed in the full amour of God, and ask God to protect me from the evil one.

I go downstairs where my dog greets me, she is excited that I am up and ready to take her for her morning walk. When I get home I make sure she is fed and watered, then I make my cup of coffee, gather my Bible, Prayer Journal, and Daily Readings and sit in my favourite place and give God my full attention.

The secret of a close relationship with God is to pray to Him earnestly each morning. This is when my mind is free from problems, and I can commit the whole day to Him. I am regularly in communication with Jesus, I know He is present with me wherever I am and wherever I go. He helps my faith and friendship to grow in Him. This is so necessary for me to have a strong relationship with God. I need to communicate with Him daily. Having this regular time to pray and read God’s Word is the most important part of my day.

Prayer

O Lord, hear me as I pray to You. I give You my full attention, as I cry out to You for help. You are my King and my God for I pray to no one but you. Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring all of my requests to You and wait expectantly for You to answer me in the precious name of Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen

‘Come and Join Me in God’s Word’ – He Has Redeemed Me

Psalm 107:1-2 NLT Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others He has redeemed you from your enemies.

God has truly helped me in the latter days of my life. Before I knew Him personally, I wandering around the world like a lost sheep. It was when God came to me rescue me, my life changed. I have Jesus Christ to praise and thank for this. He has done so much for me and I have so much to thank Him for. He has been so faithful to the promises He has made with me, and where man/women has let me down God never has. I have learnt to trust and have confident faith, that no matter what I have had to go through in life, God’s presence is with me every second, minute, hour, of each new day. He will always be with me to love, support,  encourage and give me the help I need. All of His works I thank and praise Him for. I will tell of His mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of His everlasting kingdom. The Lord has kept His covenant to me; and He has been full of grace, love, and poured out His mercies upon me. This is always great to remember His grace, mercy, love, and faithfulness will see us through until one day we will meet Him personally in eternity.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I want to exalt and praise Your blessed and holy name, in the name of Jesus Christ. I want to thank and praise You for Your mercy, grace, love, and faithfulness You have shown towards me Your child. I cannot thank You enough for everything You have done for me and continue to do for me through Your precious Son and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God, I give thanks. Amen
