New Blog Post: “Our Rebellious Ways Are Forgiven.”

Psalm 103:12 NLT He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

103:12 East and west can never meet. This is a symbolic portrait of God’s forgiveness. When He forgives our sin, He separates it from us and doesn’t even remember it. We need never wallow in the past, for God forgives and forgets. We tend to dredge up the ugly past, but God has wiped our record clean. If we are to follow God, we must model His forgiveness. When we forgive another, we must also forget the sin. Otherwise we have not truly forgiven.

We must thank and be grateful to God for dealing with our rebellious ways. He has removed them as far as the east is to the west. This is a symbolic portrait of God’s forgiveness; when He forgives our sins, He separates us from them and remembers them no more. We do not need to wallow in the past. God forgives and He forgets what we have previously done. We all tend to dredge up the ugly past, but God has wiped our record clean. If we are to follow God we must remodel our behaviour and accept His forgiveness. When we forgive one another, we must also forget the sin, or otherwise we have not truly forgiven.
