New Blog Post: "Love God"

Joshua 22:5 NIV Be careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you; to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to obey His commands, to hold fast to Him and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul.

Do you love God with all your heart and all your soul? This is a question we must ask ourselves daily. It is a command that God requires from us. If we are followers of Jesus Christ then it is not hard to be obedient to His commandments if our passions are for Christ. We should want to do what God wants us to do and walk in submission and be obedient to His sovereign will. The Holy Spirit of God has been sent to us to help and enable us to do this. He is such a great Comforter and we must rely upon Him constantly to show us His wisdom and understanding gaining knowledge which comes from God.

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak of His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you”(John 16:12-15 NIV).

It is hard to still our hearts before God when our minds keep straying from God and onto the things we have yet to do. This is the works of the enemy (evil one) he will do all he can to distract us from praying, reading God’s Word and listening to what God wants to say to us. He will go to any lengths to divert us from having a close relationship with Jesus Christ. Remember Jesus was in tempted also when He went into the wilderness by the Spirit of God read (Matthew 4:1-11). This helps us to see how Jesus handled the enemy. We can follow the example He left for us to follow and use the Word of God to deal with all our enemies as He did.

So we must be careful to keep all the commandments that God has left for us to follow and walk in all God’s ways, to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, body spirits and souls and obey everything He commands us to do holding onto to Him wanting to serve Him with all our hearts spirits and souls walking close with God each day.
