New Blog Post: “Make My Ears Alert.”

Isaiah 50:4 ESV The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning He awakens; He awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

Prayer

Father, You want me to have You clearly in my sight in order for me to follow You. You are willing to wake me in the morning and make my ears alert to Your instructions. If I am willing to seek You with all my heart, which I am, You will renew my strength and make my path clear. I do not want to live in self-sufficiency for this is a torment for me. I will not place my confidence in my own intelligence, appearance, or accomplishments. Instead, I put my confidence in God. I risk torment later when these strengths fade. You will teach me to balance my extremes to gain self-control and live in a way that has a positive impact on others. I will wait upon God each morning and ask Your Spirit to direct me daily. Father God, I ask You to fill my heart with wisdom and knowledge that will enlighten me just at the right time. I wish You to empower me each day as I never want to start my day without God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit in Christ. Amen

  1. What a beautiful prayer. I like the word choice "torment" for that is so true for a life outside of God is a life without peace, full of anxiety and troubling thoughts. Even when I do so well in my own strength (as you wrote) when it fails, the regret in not trusting Him from the start is truly tormenting.
