New Blog Post: Come Away My Beloved – Frances J. Roberts

‘The Mind of God’

1 Corinthians 2:5 Your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

O My child, give Me your mind. I shall keep it in perfect tranquillity. Give Me your thoughts. I will keep them in peace. If you allow other people to do your thinking for you, you will be distressed. If you try to think for yourself, you may be in error through limited knowledge or misinformation. Let My thinking displace and supersede your mind and reasoning, and you will be kept in peace and order; you will know exactly and precisely what is right, what is true, and what is the proper course of action.
As you draw upon My Spirit for physical strength, draw also upon My Mind for wisdom, understanding, and peace of mind. Make this a habit in your life, and you will be astounded at the results, the accomplishments it will bring. Rather than being motivated by impulse, you will be directed by Divine Intelligence.
Have I not promised that if any of you lack wisdom, you may ask God who gives liberally and without reproach (see James 1:5)? I have not left you to flounder like a rudderless ship. I will freely share with you all you need of My thinking powers, just as I share of My grace for the needs of the spirit.
This is a reservoir very nearly untapped. This is why I commended Solomon, because he asked the highest gift. In adding the other benefits, I gave him only those things that shall surely always follow after this first. For the life truly directed by My Mind shall enjoy many other blessings in abundance.
You shall know who needs healing, and what the physical body needs, ever the true cause of illness, so that healing may be complete in the whole person. You shall know who is speaking in error, and you shall not only discern the craftiness of the enemy but how to rebuke him in My Name.
You shall be unafraid when you face others, for wisdom is power. You shall be unashamed to speak, for you shall know that the words you speak are not your own, but His who sent you His messenger. You shall be able to testify as did Jesus: “The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works” (John 14:10). Know that I will do it. Trust Me to do it. You will rejoice far in excess of any joy you have yet experienced.
Amazing things awaits you. You have had but the tiniest foretaste. Launch out! The Mind of God is fathomless. Who can ponder the smallest fraction of the intelligence of the Creator? It is all at your disposal – a great repository from which you may freely draw. Draw, then, for truly the well is deep.

Prayer

Father God, I give You my mind and know You shall keep it in perfect tranquillity.
I give You my thoughts, and You will keep them in peace. I will allow You, Jesus Christ, to do my thinking and let Your mind be in my inner most being.
I will let Your thinking displace and supersede my mind and my reasoning, and I will be kept in peace and order.
I will know exactly and precisely what is right, what is true, and what is the proper course of action as I listen to the Holy Spirit of God through His mighty Word.
I draw upon Your Spirit for physical strength; and draw also upon Your Mind for wisdom, understanding, and peace of mind. I will now make this a habit of my life, and I will be astounded at the results, the accomplishments it will bring to me. Rather, than being motivated by impulse I will directed by Divine Intelligence.
You have amazing things waiting for me. I have had but the tiniest foretaste. I will now launch out. I will not be afraid when I face others, for wisdom of God is power, and He will send me as His messenger and testify as Jesus’ did. Amen

New Blog Post: 'Streams In the Desert' – L. B. Cowan

Job 23:10 He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Faith grows during storms. These are just four little words, but what significance they have to someone who has endured life-threatening storms!
Faith is that God-given ability that, when exercised, brings the unseen into plain view. It deals with the supernatural and makes impossible things possible. And yes, it grows during storms- that is, it grows through disturbance in the spiritual atmosphere. Storms are caused by conflicts between the physical elements, and the storms of the spiritual world are conflicts with supernatural, hostile elements. And it is this atmosphere of conflict that faith finds its most fertile soil and grows most rapidly to maturity.
The strongest trees are found not in the thick shelter of the forest but out in the open, where winds from every direction bear down upon them. The fierce winds bend and twist them until they become giant in stature. There are the trees that toolmakers seek for handles for their tools, because of the wood’s great strength.
It is the same in the spiritual world. Remember, when you see a person of great spiritual stature, the road must travel to walk with him is not one where the sun always shines and wildflowers always bloom. Instead, the way is a steep, rocky, and narrow path, where the winds of hell will try to knock you off your feet, and where sharp rocks will cut you, prickly thorns will scratch your face, and  poisonous snakes will slither and hiss all around you.
The path of faith is one of sorrow and joy, suffering and healing comfort, tears and smiles, trials and victories, conflicts and triumphs, and also hardships, dangers, beatings, persecutions, misunderstandings, trouble, and distress. Yet “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Yes, “in all these” – even during storms, when the winds are the most intense – “we are more than conquerors.” You may be tempted to run from the ordeal of a fierce storm of testing but head straight for it! God is there to meet you in the centre of each trial. And He will whisper to you His secrets, which will bring you out with a radiant face and such an invincible faith that all the demons of hell will never be able to shake it.  F. A. Kilbourne

"Plausible Deniability”

Read Psalm 51:1-10

The LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. – 1 Samuel 16:7

Answering media charges of scandal and impropriety, the guilty politician responded with the plea, “I have no recollection of those events.” It was yet another attempt by a public figure to apply a strategy called “plausible deniability.” This is when individuals try to create a personal safety net for themselves by seeking to convince others that they had no knowledge of the events in question. Someone else gets blamed and becomes the scapegoat for the guilty person’s wrongs.
Sometimes Christians have their own kind of plausible deniability. We claim ignorance of our wrong behaviour, rationalise, or blame others – but God knows the truth. The Bible tells us: “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). This is true whether the heart is pure or if it’s corrupt heart robed in false claims of innocence. We may fool others who see us only on the outside, but God sees the reality of our hearts – whether good or bad.
It is wise, therefore, to humbly confess our faults to the LORD. He desires that we admit the truth (Ps. 51:6). The only way to escape the sin and restore our fellowship with God is to acknowledge and confess to Him (vv. 3-4).
